Probleem:

It turns out that the SUN Java Virtual Machine
(JVM) 1.4.1 has a fairly severe bug that causes replacement of
screen components to hang for 5-10 seconds each. We use
this technique in several places, including the open
registration, both Connect and IE Generate participant, and
showing comments to Connect participants in Evaluate, XMP and
MCA.
This will impact both Connect and InternetEdition for users who
use:
- Netscape version 7.0 (depending on when you download it
-- earlier it used 1.4.0 or 1.3.1).
- Microsoft InternetExplorer 6.0, for those users who
DON'T use the Microsoft JVM, and instead download and install
the Sun 1.4.1 JVM. Anyone who uses the Microsoft JVM
will run just fine.
It does not prevent a user from finishing a meeting, but mainly
it makes it painfully slow use the InternetEdition or Connect
Generate participant.
There is a bug in the Sun database (ID 4745222) for this, and it
is being worked. So, hopefully 1.4.2 will have a fix, but
we don't know for sure.
